This classic trek takes us up the Langtang Valley, regarded as a ‘beyul’ or refuge established many hundreds of years ago by Padmasambhava (also known as Guru Rinpoche) to be revealed in a time of need. The lower valley is inhabited mainly by members of the Tamang ethnic group while from Langtang Village upwards ethnic Tibetans are in the majority. The landscape ranges from shady forests, to open hillsides and majestic mountains, especially Langtang Lirung (7227m).
Best Season: March to May and September to November. Late March to the end of April is particularly recommended due to the abundance of rhododendron blooms to be found at that time.
Notes: Like all of our treks, the guide/organizer reserves the right to adjust the itinerary in accordance with weather conditions and/or other factors.
Add-ons: A number of add-ons are possible by prior arrangement, including the 2-day/1-night camping trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Shisha Kharka.
